Bergen orgelsommer - Bergen International Organ Festival Sigurd M Øgaard in St. John's Church

Normally the most visible church in Bergen, St. John's Church is currently hidden behind scaffolding as it undergoes restoration. Inside, however, its splendour remains intact. Consecrated in 1894, the church houses a historic organ by Schlag & Söhne, restored in 1999 and cherished by organists for German Romantic repertoire.

Sigurd M. Øgaard is Cathedral Organist in Bergen and one of the leading organ artists of his generation. He has enjoyed a distinguished international career as an organ soloist, performing widely throughout Europe and the United States. For thirteen years, he was professionally active in the U.S., where he built a strong reputation as both performer and musician of exceptional artistic depth. Program details will be announced later.
