Join Opplev Oppdal down the rushing rivers and long rapids of Oppdal. For over 30 years, both locals and tourists have joined Opplev Oppdal's experienced guides for rafting on the Driva River! Family rafting is a fun activity that focuses on children and offers plenty of swimming and excitement!
The children's and family tour is approximately 4 km long and takes about 2.5-3 hours. The trip is best suited for children aged 6-13, with a minimum height of 116 cm for the youngest participants. Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants meet at the rafting center in the Wilderness Camp, where changing rooms are available. A safety briefing and paddling instruction are given before the tour.
At the start of the tour, participants get to try out the water. Children can challenge themselves as they wish and feel confident in mastering the activity. The trip begins with relatively calm rapids and open sections through the beautiful Drivdalen valley. If the water level allows, cliff jumping is included, with jumprock being popular and giving children a thrill. There’s also swimming as requested by participants, depending on water flow and temperature. The largest rapids are navigated in the latter part of the tour, once everyone is familiar with the water. These give a sense of achievement, often accompanied by lots of laughter and joyful shouts.
Participants are transported back to the rafting center, where showers are available.
Clothing/equipment: Wool socks, sneakers, wool or polypropylene underwear, swimsuit, a bag for wet clothes, and a towel. Meeting point: Opplev Oppdal Rafting Center is located at Granmo Camping, 7 km south along the E6 from Oppdal center.
Opplev Oppdal is certified as an Eco-Lighthouse, a Norwegian quality label that ensures a safe and enjoyable participation.
