The NCE Afternoon Boat Trips
Spend the brightest hours of the day at sea on our fishing vessel, see the North Cape from its base and catch your meal!
As part old our small (max 6 per boat) guided tours, you can visit the Old Skarsvåg settlement; enjoy spectacular views of the Kirkeporten rock formation, the North Cape Horn or the North Cape Plateau; sail through Risfjord or Mefjord; and see bird nesting sites. The expertise offered by the NCE guide will help you gain an even greater appreciation of the challenges faced by early explorers. Better still, you may even have the opportunity to greet whales. Don't forget your camera!

Price is for a base of a 2 hour tour.
A 3-hour experience including a a trip at sea to catch crab or fish, a king crab or fish cooking course followed by a meal of the freshest sea food is NOK 695.
Fishing rods available on request for NOK 160.
If you wish to do a boat trip in particular, enquire at jonathan@thenorthcape-experience.com to find out if a particular experience has already been decided for that particular day. Rate is based on a 2-hour tour.
Longer tours are charged at the rate of NOK 200 per extra hour of sailing, and NOK 100 per extra hour of hiking.
Depending on your requests and our availability, we will agree with you on the destination of the tour.

Old Skarsvåg by boat (BOAT) (~2 hours)
Let us take you to the place where the most northern fishing village of the world was situated in the old days. There are no more fishermen living here today, but Old Skarsvag is now home to many other species.
If you are lucky, you’ll get to see the nesting site of up to 20 fishing eagles. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

The BIG NCE Boat Tour (BOAT) (min 3 hours, extra charge applies)
Get the full-on experience of all the North Cape has to offer by sea:
Driving out the Risfjord we will pass Old Skarsvag, the former settlement of the most northern fishing village in the world. Once out at sea you’ll have a breath-taking panoramic view of the North Cape Horn and Plateau. A few minutes later you’ll find yourself at the foot of the North Cape, waving at the visitors looking down from the North Cape Globe. We then take you to Mefjord where you’ll get to experience the magic of Kirkeporten from the sea side. Don’t miss this chance to capture the beauty of this ancient holy place with your camera.
At the end of this tour you can visit the Skarsvåg Tourist Center for a nice cup of coffee or tea, get some souvenirs for your loved ones at home or satisfy your information hunger in the little mini museum inside the center.

The NCE King Crab Experience (FISHING) (min 1 hour boat trip, min 2 hours including the preparation and taste)
Are you crazy for king crabs? Come out and catch them with us. Extend the trip and we’ll show you how to prepare and enjoy the taste of fresh produce from the ocean.

The BIG NCE Fishing Tour (FISHING) (min 3 hours, extra charge applies)
Want to know how it’s like to be a fisherman? Come and join us on our big NCE fishing tour where you learn all about fishing cod, halibut, king crabs and much more. This is a hands-on experience, so don’t be afraid to get yourself dirty. At the end of the trip we will also show you how to filet and prepare the fish.

The Original North Cape Tour (Boat & Hike) (~4 hours; 1h boat trip, 1hour hiking, optional transport back ~1 hour)
Discover the North Cape like the kings and queens. Back in the old days, when people where brought to the North Cape by boat instead of busses, they stopped at Hornvika, the Horn of the North Cape, and then climbed up on a trail on the side of the North Cape Plateau.
And this is exactely how we are going to do it with you: we’ll start in Skarsvåg and take you out to sea by boat or kayak. Along the way to the original landing point Hornvika, you’ll get to see the beauty of the Risfjord, the Mefjord and the North Cape Plateau. We will then hike up with you on the original trail. Once arrived at the North Cape Plateau where we’ll show you around the outside sites. You are free to visit the North Cape Hall and all it has to offer.
There are different options to get back: we can come and pick you up, you can take the public bus to Honningsvag, you can hike back to Skarsvåg, or we can provide bikes which you can ride back to Skarsvåg.
